Slatecard is a utility to support and enhance Republican activism.
We launched Slatecard in October 2007 in order to finally give the Republican community powerful tools to help it self-organize and compete with liberals online.
In our first election cycle, we helped raise nearly $650,000 for Republican candidates and committees. Over 60 candidates for federal office used Slatecard to process their donations exclusively, including incumbent U.S. Senators, Members of Congress, and dozens of challengers.
Of Slatecard, U.S. Senator Jim DeMint recently said, "Slatecard is a cutting-edge website that allows conservatives to easily support the candidates and causes that promote their beliefs. Liberals may have gotten a head start on netroots development, but this site will help close that gap."
To everyone who believed in Slatecard and helped contribute to its success -- thank you. We couldn't -- and wouldn't have done it without you.
While our efforts in our first election cycle were relatively significant, we are not willing to rest on our laurels.
We are currently working on the next version of Slatecard. We expect to launch it in the summer of 2009.
While we're building the next version of Slatecard we are limiting the use of the old platforms so that we can focus our time and resources on developing the new platform.
We understand that now more than ever Republicans need a tool like Slatecard to compete with the left online. And though it is not ideal to take the site offline, we're forced to do so in order to realize our vision for one of the strongest platform ever imagined in modern politics.
Those candidates and committees who are using Slatecard to process their donations will still be able to do so. If you have any questions or concerns feel free to email us at Team@Slatecard.com.
We'll keep you updated on our progress moving forward.
