ABOUT THE UTILITY

Slatecard is a utility to support and enhance Republican activism.

"Slatecard" is Slatecard.com PAC. Slatecard.com PAC is an independent, federally registered political action committee (PAC) which acts as a "conduit" to raise money online to help Republican candidates for federal office in compliance with the Federal Election Campaign Act (FECA).

It is no secret that Democrats are far ahead of Republicans in converting their online presence to offline support. One website which the Left has used effectively since 2004, is ActBlue.com (ActBlue PAC), a site which provides a tool for activists and committees to raise funds for the candidates and causes they support. In fact, millions of dollars have been raised through the site since 2004.

It is our hope that Slatecard will level the playing field for Republican candidates and causes by providing an innovative platform for use by the Right kind of activists.

Our utility is available for use by all candidates running for a Republican federal office and we hope to make this service available to state and local candidates where possible in the near future.

Using a commercial vendor to handle our transactions, we are leveraging some of the lowest available rates on the market, which means that by contributing to candidates through Slatecard.com PAC, a larger percentage of the donation will actually end up going to the candidate. Soon, we will work to integrate with PayPal to offer more options to our users.

INNOVATIVE STRATEGY TO SUPPORT AND ENHANCE ACTIVISM

Issue badges, buttons, and The Ticker are innovative tools the utility deploys to increase support for the Right kind of candidates and committees and enhance the experience. Quite simply, at Slatecard, ”It’s fun to give Right.”

Slatecard is guided by a Board of Directors who play a critical role in determining how the non-earmarked funds of the site should be spent and offer suggestions to help improve the utility for candidates, committees, bloggers, and activists.

Members of our Board of Directors include:

* John Hawkins runs Right Wing News and Conservative Grapevine, and writes a weekly column for Townhall.com. Hawkins also founded and led the Rightroots group, a grassroots effort that collected almost $300,000 for Republican candidates in the last three months of the 2006 election cycle.

Slatecard has retained the counsel of Don McGahn who manages McGahn & Associates, a law firm that specializes in political law. McGahn represents national parties, state parties, Senate and House campaigns, Leadership PACs, and others in the political arena.

If you want to be a part of the Slatecard team and our elite list of Slatecard Captains, please send an email to Joe at team@slatecard.com. Our Slatecard Captains help us test new technologies for the site and help keep our robust candidate directory current.

CONCLUSION

In 2006, 22 races were won or lost by less than 2 percent. In 2002 and 2004, just seven races total were won or lost by less than 2 percent. We’re no longer winning and losing races with wide margins. One of the reasons why we lost the House and Senate majorities is because the Democrats embraced a coordinated, national 50-state strategy using Democratic sites like ActBlue to help ensure that key races had the resources they needed to get their message out.

With your help, Slatecard will help deliver those resources to even more Republican candidates as the premiere online utility for Republican activism. Please consider giving us a generous contribution to help improve the platform, pay expenses, and expand our reach beyond Federal candidates.

We’ll make you proud. Promise.
