About Me

Jim’s public service career began in 1990 when he won the first of two terms in the Pennsylvania House of Representatives. He then served two distinguished terms in the Pennsylvania State Senate before winning his first term to the U.S. House of Representatives in 2002.
A lifelong Pennsylvania resident, Jim has established himself as an effective advocate for state taxpayers, an honest voice in public policy discussions and a determined presence in every legislative body in which he has served.
Jim graduated cum laude from Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA with a bachelor of arts degree in political science. He is also a graduate of Dickinson School of Law with a juris doctor degree. He is married to Karen and has three children and three stepchildren. Jim lives in Chester Springs, Chester County.
