About Me
Virgil Goode is a lifelong resident of Franklin County and currently resides in Rocky Mount, Virginia. He is married to the former Lucy D. Dodson and has a daughter named Catherine.
Virgil completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Richmond where he received his Bachelors of Arts degree in 1969. Following his graduation from the University of Richmond, Virgil attended the University of Virginia School of Law where he received a J.D. in 1973. During that time, he was selected for the Virginia Law Review.
In 1973, at age 27, Virgil was elected to the Commonwealth of Virginia Senate. He served in the Virginia General Assembly until 1996 when he was elected to the U.S. House of Representatives.
