About Me
Roy Blunt has a history of public service dating back to 1984, when he was the first Republican to be elected Missouri Secretary of State in over fifty years. Upon leaving that position, Blunt returned to his alma mater, Southwest Baptist University in Bloivar, MO.
Blunt was elected to Congress in 1997 and became the Majority Whip just five years later, faster than any Member of Congress in the preceeding eighty years. Robert Novak described his term as Whip as "the most efficient party whip operation in Congressional history."
Mr. Blunt is married to Abigail and has four children, including Missouri Governor Matt Blunt, and five grandchildren.
