About Me

Jo Ann Emerson has served the Eighth Congressional District for ten years and is currently seeking her sixth term. She is a strong advocate of the pro-life cause, flood control, hunger relief, and fiscal responsibility.

She currently serves as vice-chair of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Subcommittee on Democratic Governance, is co-chair of the Board of Directors for the Congressional Hunger Center, and is a member of Bread for the World. She is also an Honorary and life Trustee of Westminster College in Fulton, MO. In 2005 she chaired the National Prayer Breakfast in Washington.

She is a wife, mother and grandmother who always puts her family first. She has two daughters, five stepdaughters, one stepson, and two grandchildren.
