Lincoln Diaz-Balart has represented South Florida in the United States House of Representatives since January 1993. He is a senior member of the House Rules Committee. I

A lawyer by profession, Lincoln served as an Assistant State Attorney and a state legislator before being elected to Congress.

In Congress, Lincoln has led the effort to pass such legislation as the Nicaraguan Adjustment and Central American Relief Act (NACARA) and the codification of the U.S. embargo on the Cuban dictatorship. In 1999, he was named one of the most effective legislators by Congressional Quarterly.

Lincoln serves in Congress with his younger brother Mario Diaz-Balart. Diaz-Balart lives in Miami with his wife and their two sons.
