About Me

Dr. Walter “Buddy” Witherspoon has been a leader in the South Carolina Republican Party for years. Since 1996 he has served as the state’s Committeeman to the Republican National Committee.
A devout Christian, Buddy has served as the chairman of the Westside Assembly of God.
Buddy served as a Lieutenant in the Dental Corps of the US Navy attached to the Marine Corps.
Buddy was born in Columbia, South Carolina. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of South Carolina, and a D.D.S. and M.S.O. from the University of North Carolina. He has been married to his wife Joyce Ann since 1970. They have a daughter Annie Melissa and three grandchildren.
