A political prodigy who was elected to the Louisiana Legislature at
age 24, Woody authored more than 300 bills that were enacted into law.
While serving in the statehouse from 1972 to 2000 Jenkins:
Authored tax-cutting legislation saving Louisiana residents more than
$3 billion.
*Drafted and passed sweeping pro-life legislation.
*Drafted much of the Louisiana Declaration of Rights in the Louisiana
State Constitution.
Since leaving the state house, Jenkins has continued to run his small
businesses and serves as an editor for three community newspapers in
the Baton Rouge area.
